Cranston's Norway Spruce Tree
(Picea abies'Cranstonii')
The local arboretum has a beautiful assortment of trees. This one was far up a hill but, as soon as I saw it, I was entranced. It's so big and so fascinating! The tree was at least 30' tall and quite a few feet wide. As you can see, the trunk is straight and the green needles hang down from the branches. This particular tree is a Cranston's Norway Spruce because of how it stands. It stands upright so, when you look at it, it says "see me".

I got up close and personal with this spruce to get the right photos. I stood right next to it as well as right next to the trunk with branches around me. The following photo is what it looked like when I looked straight up. A sight for sore eyes.

The cones are between 4 and 8 inches long and the needles are four sided.

There was something about this tree that captured my attention and still, many days later, my thoughts still see the beautiful tree at the arboretum.

Have you seen one? What do you think about it?

Each of the above prints are available for purchase.

Thank you for visiting!

Judy
